Which house would you rather live in

Which house would you rather live in?

Life is too short to live in a house that doesn’t reflect your personality or work for your lifestyle!
“Little boxes on the hillside
And they all look just the same”

Lyrics from Little Boxes, the 1963 hit song for Pete Seeger*

Does this look like a little box to you? The arrow shows where the back wall of this extended Adelaide home used to come to – and where the new extension has given the home new life in the form of magical indoor-outdoor flow and a superb feeling and openness and space – even on cooler evenings when you’re sitting indoors beside the fire. Our designers are experts at adding life to your home.

This 1970s-style ranch house suffered from limited natural light and an ugly shrub plonked right in the middle of the front yard. A renovation opened the home up to more light and space and used different textures to add to its street appeal. This 1970s home, resplendent in purple, was given some 2016 chic by a merciful renovation. Spring is an excellent time to talk to us at Pzazz Building about getting your merciful renovation started.

This renovated house in North Sydney doesn’t look hugely different from the original bought by 29-year-old carpenter, Craig Archer, and his wife Sarah in May 2013 for $660,000. But when you take a closer look at their extensive renovations on both the interior and exterior of the property, you can see why the house sold for a princely $1.7 million two years later.

Let’s start with the kitchen and living area. As you can see from the ‘before’ inset, the original kitchen was just a tad dated. Craig’s renovation raised the ceiling, updated the kitchen and made the most of the gorgeous timber floor.

But it is at the back of the house where the impact of the renovation really became apparent. Craig transformed what was a completely uninspiring backyard – why would you even want to go there? – into a stunning multi-level indoor-outdoor living and entertainment zone . With summer on its way, could your home’s indoor-outdoor flow do with some pzazz?

Second storey addition to Wellington home

The addition of a second storey on this Wellington home not only brought the dwelling into the 21st century and doubled its floor area, but gave the home owners a stunning new perspective on Wellington Harbour and the Petone foreshore.

The song has been covered by many artists including Donovan, Linkin Park, Elvis Costello, Death Cab for Cutie, Engelbert Humperdinck, Randy Newman, Regina Spektor and Billy Bob Thornton.
